Children & Young People

Bountagu provides opportunities for children and young people.

Bountagu provides opportunities for children and young people to participate in active, healthy and positive activities and learn the skills and value of community development.

The Hang Out after school club has over 160 members between the ages of 5 and 11 years.  The children and young people enjoy weekly activities and special trips out.
There has also been a very active summer programme with a range of great trips to the seaside, farms, Thorpe Park, Go Carting and the Cinema. Some saw the sea for the very first time!

  • The Youth Forum
The Forum has over 30 members, that plan and organise activities and projects for young people in the area.
They also learn about managing projects, community development and leadership. Bountagu is also hosting a weekly Enterprise Youth Programme called Freedom E, supporting young people in developing entrepreneurial, leadership and creative skills, that will help them with employment and enterprise (running a business) in the future. There is also a Children and Young Peoples Network with quarterly meetings with organisations that provide services to young people in the area. By working in this way we ensure local people are aware of what is available and organisations are aware of local needs.
  • Freedom-E
Freedom-E is made up of a young group who have a drive to make changes to the Bountagu community. They organise and participate in local events which helps them build their entrepreneurial skills alongside other skills such as their leadership skills, Creativity and Social skills.
Every Wednesday: 4:00-5:30PM @The Bountagu Community Hub
